The easiest way to knot an amber necklace is to use two strands of beading cord that are small enough so that they can both fit through the holes of your beads, but normally single strand is used.

Tie a knot in one end of the cord. It is recomended to use more then one knot for part that stays in clasp.
Secure one end of the cord to the clasp.

The process for this differs according to the type of clasp you've chosen. We use "twist clasps" as pictured above and "magetic clasps". If you have more then one knot this will be enough, if less glue knot inside clasp. Weekest part of the amber teething necklace is the back of the clasp, it will break away with pressure is applied. Most common mistake customers do is testing how strong is the cord. Clasp is strong enough to be used as jewelry, however with presure it may prevent choking hazard. You should make a knot inside clasp and outside, in this case no beads would come of if clasp would break.

Slip the loose ends of the cords inside a bead and pull the bead all the way down the length of the cords.
Make an overhand knot and double it.

Repeat Steps 5 and 6 until approximately 1 inch remains on the end (or more, depending on how you secured the other end to the clasp). The overall length of the finished necklace should be about 13". Make sure there is a secure knot between each bead. This prevents the beads from becoming choking hazards if the necklace were to break.

Attach the end of the necklace to the other side of the clasp.

This method is more suitable for non knotted necklace. Some manufacturers glue string in the clasp, or if are real skillful form a knot on the tip of the needle or very small hook and push the knot inside the clasp (3 knotts are recommended for good hold). No space is created this way in between clasp and last bead.
